Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

I am Pastor Rick Gutheil and I am blessed and honored to serve the wonderful people here at Verona Global Methodist Church and the community of Verona, Ohio and surrounding areas.

I am originally from Miamisburg, Ohio where I lived and went to school and graduated in ..., let's just say a LONG time ago! I have a beautiful wife Deb, a daughter Jamie and a great dog named Amos. I love to sing, enjoy music of many genres, play a few percussion instruments. I also love a good laugh and makig others laugh and find joy in life, even in the mundane events, and, mostly, in a life with Jesus! I love to read and I enjoy sports, especially golf since I am too old to play baseball anymore. Deb and I are also active in mission work having served in Israel, Guatemala, Alaska, Arizona, and Deb has also served in these areas and Florida and Ghana, Africa as well.

I have been in ministry through serving in worship teams and bands and leading worship for approximately 15 years before God called me into pastoral ministry, which began in January of 2010 in Versailles, Ohio. After serving there for four and a half years, I was appointed to serve the Lord at Verona UMC, in Verona, Ohio and still serve as Pastor here. During my time at Verona I also served as interim pastor for several months at Abbottsville UMC and for three years as Senior Pastor at Antioch UMC near Trotwood, Ohio. I also serve as a Spiritual Director for the Darke County Area Emmaus Community.

I am honored, and consider it the greatest blessings of my life, to be able to bring the Good News of Great Joy, found in Jesus Christ on a daily basis to those God has allowed me to shepherd and to all who are seeking to find their way to eternal life through Jesus.
